“In order to change our mode of action, we must change the image of ourselves that we carry within us.” - Moshe Feldenkrais
What is the Global Feldenkrais Festival?
The Global Feldenkrais Festival is a hybrid event celebrating the Feldenkrais Method around the world. It features teachers from six continents, around-the-clock Awareness Through Movement lessons to accommodate different time zones, as well and lectures and discussions related to the practice of the Feldenkrais Method.
This Year's Theme - Conflict, Connection, and Creating Peace
There is no question that there is a tremendous amount of turmoil and conflict in the world currently. How can the Feldenkrais Method help to alleviate some of this conflict? Though often thought of as a personal venture, the Feldenkrais Method is fundamentally about the communication of two nervous systems seeking harmony. Through practice, we can become less reactive, and respond to challeneges in a resiliant way. This has always been a subtext of the Method; in this festival, we would like to think and discuss explicitly how we can take our sense of peace and nonjudgemental awareness into the rest of our lives.
